1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?
A constant reminder of the organization's core values to new members of the team and reminding of them to the existing members while facing the challenges of business growth and changes in the economic environment such as war and other issues.
2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?
First I made a decision to become independent in my sources of income and that's how I became a freelancer in 2011. 8 years later I realized that my business and financial growth and the ability to give value to the world would remain limited as long as I kept working alone so I decided to recruit a team today I have 14 employees and I am planning to double it in the next 3 years.
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
I start my day at 5 a.m. working, setting goals and managing open issues with and for my clients and employees Around 7 a.m. I'm helping my 3 kids to organize themselves for the preliminary school and then I go to the office/meetings elsewhere.
Between 1:30 p.m.-4 p.m. I'm trying to be at home with the kids and then when they go to the after-school classes I get back to work for meetings, email, etc At 8 pm I get back to my family for mutual dinner and at 9:00 pm when the kids go to sleep go for a run with my spouse and around 11 p.m. I go to sleep after reading a few pages of a book.
4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?
A leader has to be tough to make sure his people work properly and give the clients the best outcome they can. You can't trust them to know by themselves that they need to get better.
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so
far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?
Rich Dad and Poor Dad had an incredible impact on me. Only after reading this book, did I start my journey of financial and business growth. I first had to start leading myself before leading others:)
6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?
Be yourself, but remember that some people will try to take advantage of you being a good person. Get rid of those as fast as you can, before they damage your organization. Those who behave as you expect without you being mean to them- those are the right people to surround yourself with since you probably share the same values. You can create a successful organization with like-minded individuals who share the same values. And no, you can't teach grown-ups values- they either have them or not.
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far? Take your time and respond when you're ready not when you're under pressure. Stay calm and consider your actions without giving your emotions to lead you impulsively in the wrong direction.
