1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?

As a leader, one of the most challenging yet vital aspects I encounter is the pursuit of individuals who not only seamlessly integrate into our unique culture but also possess the independence and leadership qualities necessary to guide and inspire a team. Finding this balance is crucial as it fosters a harmonious yet dynamic work environment where innovation and collaborative success can truly flourish.

2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?

From a young age, I was naturally inclined towards leadership, not by dominating tasks single-handedly, but through a collaborative spirit, uniting people and empowering them with autonomy, knowledge, and resources. This intrinsic approach to leadership has been a cornerstone of my journey.

When I embarked on the entrepreneurial path and assumed the role of CEO at my own company, the leadership mantle felt like a natural extension of my abilities. In the tech landscape of Nepal, where mentorship and guidance were scarce, I found myself naturally evolving into a mentor, guiding and supporting others in their endeavors. This evolution marks the essence of my leadership journey, defined by collaboration, mentorship, and a commitment to fostering collective growth.

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

My daily routine is a blend of simplicity and focus, underpinned by the TickTick app, which is my go-to tool for organizing my day. Each morning begins with a ritual that sets the tone for productivity and well-being. This includes identifying three key tasks for the day, followed by a period of meditation and either stretching or a workout, depending on the day's needs.

After this revitalizing start, I head to the office, where my day kicks off with updates from my team leaders. My schedule primarily revolves around collaborating with the finance, innovation, and growth teams, ensuring our company's steady progression.

Evenings are reserved for cherished family time, a crucial aspect of my day that brings balance and joy. Before retiring, I spend a few moments in reflection, contemplating the day's achievements and lessons, setting a restful tone for a good night's sleep.

4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?

A pivotal lesson I've recently embraced in my leadership journey is the art of strategic detachment. The realization dawned that constant involvement isn't always beneficial; sometimes, taking a step back is key. This approach allows my team the space to navigate their tasks, experience setbacks, and engage in problem-solving. My role has shifted to providing guidance and advice rather than immediately stepping in to rectify issues.

This methodology is rooted in the belief that true delegation is effective only when it's coupled with autonomy and knowledge. Frequent intervention, though well-intentioned to enhance results, can inadvertently foster a dependency culture within the team. It limits their growth, instills a fear of failure, and hinders the development of a resilient, self-sustaining team.

Understanding and implementing this has been a transformative step in my leadership style, focusing on empowering the team to grow through experiences and learn from their challenges.
