1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?
As a leader, finding the balance between delegation and oversight, managing conflicts, and adapting to unforeseen challenges are some of the most challenging aspects I've encountered. It requires constant evaluation, adaptability, and the ability to foster trust and innovation within the team.
2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?
I became a leader through dedication, seizing opportunities, building trust, seeking feedback, continuous learning, and embracing challenges.
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
My work day involves a morning routine for clarity, focused writing sessions, breaks for refreshment, research and planning time, editing and revisions, communication with clients, self-care, and winding down in the evening with leisure activities and reflection.
4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?
A recent leadership lesson I've been reminded of is the importance of active listening and empathy in fostering effective communication and collaboration within teams.
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?
One book that profoundly impacted my leadership is "Leaders Eat Last" by Simon Sinek. It emphasized servant leadership and prioritizing the well-being of team members, inspiring me to adopt a more empathetic and people-centric approach to leadership.
6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?
If I could offer one piece of advice to a young leader, it would be this: Never stop learning and growing. Embrace every opportunity to expand your knowledge, refine your skills, and gain new perspectives. Continuous learning not only enhances your effectiveness as a leader but also fosters personal and professional growth, enabling you to adapt to new challenges and inspire others along the way.
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far?
One meaningful story from my time as a leader involves a project where our team faced challenges, and despite obstacles, we rallied around a struggling team member, offering support and solidarity. Together, we overcame adversity and strengthened our bonds as a team, highlighting the importance of empathy and collaboration in leadership.
