1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?
The biggest challenge I have encountered as a leader is how to manage different people with different levels of understanding.
2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?
When I was in the compass, I would go for attachments, and the manager would leave me in the office. He used to give me directions on what to do and direct other workers by dispatching them to various areas. I was in a hospital where I used to receive calls from all departments, the hospital was so huge and you would receive alot of calls in a day.
After receiving calls, it was my duty to allocate someone to go and handle the case, a Technician. Serving in the position of hospital is not an easy task as your saving peoples lives, I developed leadership skills where I used to guide other students on attachment and internship on how to do certain tasks. I could go with them and teach them how to do a certain task, and then after a few weeks, I leave it to them alone.
When they need assistance, they ask, and I help. That's how I developed the skills of a good leader. I learned that as a leader, you have to understand each one, encourage each one, and show by example. You can't be a leader who doesn't understand what you want the other person to do.
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
When I wake up in the morning, I plan everything in order of priority. The priority works to be done in a day i puts them first. The day runs with busy tasks as I like to accomplish what I planned for the day. When I go to sleep, I make sure I prepare for tomorrow and have an assessment of the day, see what I achieved and what I need to do tomorrow to make sure success is there. My work is structured in order of priority and urgency.
4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?
Time management
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so
far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?
One book that I have read and that inspired me the most is the book by Joel Osteen, Positive Mind, he expresses how you can build yourself up and remove the negativity. Everyone can be a leader if you are positive in your mindset. A leader works to achieve a certain goal, if you are positive, then you will achieve with team members.
6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?
Having the right skills and staying focused make you a great leader.
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far? When I was young, I used to admire movie directors like free Morgan. I like how he used to direct the movies, and I said one day I would like to be a leader and make People achieve a certain goal.
