1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?
As a leader, I've found that one of the most challenging things is balancing the needs and expectations of different team members. It can be tough to make sure everyone feels heard and valued while also keeping things on track.
2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?
Well, I became a leader by taking on responsibilities and showing initiative. I started by being reliable, supportive, and always willing to help others. Over time, people recognized my abilities and entrusted me with leadership roles. It's been a journey of learning and growth, but I'm grateful for the opportunities that have come my way! 😄
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
Oh, I have a pretty structured routine for my work days! I usually wake up early in the morning, around 6:00 or 7:00 a.m. After getting ready and having a nice breakfast, I start my work. I prioritize my tasks and make a to-do list to stay organized throughout the day. I take short breaks to stretch and recharge, and I always make sure to have a healthy lunch. In the evening, I wrap up any pending work, review my progress, and plan for the next day. Then, I unwind by doing something I enjoy, like reading, watching a movie, or spending time with loved ones. Finally, I go to bed around 10:00 or 11:00 p.m., ensuring I get enough rest for the next day. It's all about finding a balance between work and self-care! 😊
4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?
One recent leadership lesson I've learned is the importance of active listening. It's easy to get caught up in our own thoughts and ideas, but truly listening to others helps build trust and understanding within a team. By giving each person a chance to express themselves and valuing their input, we can foster a more inclusive and collaborative environment. It's a reminder that leadership is not just about directing, but also about being receptive and open to different perspectives. 😊
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?
Oh, there's one book that has had a profound impact on my leadership journey! It's called "Dare to Lead" by Brené Brown. This book explores the power of vulnerability, courage, and empathy in leadership. It taught me the importance of embracing vulnerability as a strength and creating a culture of trust and belonging within a team. It's definitely a game-changer when it comes to leading with authenticity and compassion. I highly recommend giving it a read! 😄📚
6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?
Hey there, if I could give one piece of advice to a young leader, it would be to always stay curious and never stop learning. Embrace new experiences, seek out different perspectives, and be open to growth. The more you learn and expand your knowledge, the better equipped you'll be to lead and inspire others. So, keep that curiosity alive and keep on learning! You've got this!
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far?
One meaningful story that comes to mind from my time as a leader is when I was organizing a fundraising event for a local charity. We faced several challenges along the way, but our team remained determined and worked together to overcome them. It was incredible to witness the passion and dedication of everyone involved. In the end, we exceeded our fundraising goal and made a positive impact in the lives of those in need. It reminded me of the power of teamwork and the difference we can make when we come together for a common cause. It was a truly inspiring experience!
