1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?

One of the most challenging aspects of being a leader, is keeping employees motivated to do their jobs. Many of these employees have understood their duties and responsibilities of their job prior to the hiring process.

2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?

I became a leader through my demonstration of understanding the dynamics of healthcare transitions. In the near 20 years of working in this industry, it requires grit, determination, dedication, and passion for assisting patients and their families through care transitions. I have always been able to effectively compartmentalize the small details and the bigger ones. Being the servant and effective leader as I am, I have understood the importance of bringing both-small and big details- together.

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

On the weekends, I take a glance of upcoming events and projects. This helps me to organize things that I can control for the week.

4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?

It's important for me to be reminded of being coachable, being a mentor to others, and to continue to network with other leaders across industries.

5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

Making your Net work by Billy Dexter and Melissa Wilson. This book has taught me the importance of learning and making it a personal mission to help and bless others.

6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?

One day you will tell a story of how you overcame many setbacks and what you went through. This will all become the survival guide for someone else.

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far?

Being able to value work relationships and creating connections for both personal and professional growth development. As I volunteer during the holidays at a local rescue missions, my spirit is renewed by others while being a part of the same mission, to help and serve others.
