1. As a leader, how do you build trust with employees, customers and other stakeholders?
As the Director of Operations and co-owner of Fixdax Technology, I build trust with employees, customers, and stakeholders by fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and collaboration. Within the organization, I try to lead by example, ensuring open communication, recognizing contributions, and empowering teams with the resources they need to succeed. I prioritise customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality solutions, maintaining honesty in all interactions, and addressing concerns proactively.
With stakeholders, I uphold ethical business practices, provide clear and consistent updates on company progress, and nurture long-term partnerships based on mutual growth and reliability. By maintaining integrity and a customer-centric approach, I ensure that Fixdax continues to thrive as a trusted and innovative technology company.
2. What do 'VISION' and 'MISSION' mean to you? And what does it actually look like to use them in real-world business?
To me, vision is the ultimate goal—the long-term dream of where I want Fixdax Technology to be in the future, while mission is the roadmap that guides us there. Vision defines our purpose and the impact we strive to create, whereas mission focuses on what we do daily to achieve that vision. In real-world business, these are not just statements but guiding principles that shape decision-making, operations, and company culture.
At Fixdax, I ensure that every strategy, product, and service aligns with our mission, driving us closer to our vision. By clearly communicating these principles, I foster a motivated team, build strong customer relationships, and position Fixdax as a trusted technology partner. A well-defined vision and mission also attract investors and stakeholders who align with our goals, ensuring long-term growth and innovation.
By integrating them into daily business practices, I keep Fixdax focused, competitive, and continuously evolving in the ever-changing tech landscape.
3. How can a leader empower the people they're leading?
A leader empowers their team by fostering a culture of trust, support, and growth. At Fixdax Technology, I empower my team by providing them with the resources, autonomy, and confidence to make decisions and take ownership of their work. Clear communication of expectations and goals ensures alignment, while regular feedback and recognition motivate employees to excel. Encouraging innovation and allowing room for calculated risks helps team members grow and develop new skills.
I also invest in their professional development through mentorship, training, and opportunities for career advancement. By creating an environment where employees feel valued, heard, and trusted, I enable them to perform at their best, driving both personal and organizational success.
4. Who are some of the coaches or mentors in your life who have had a positive influence on your leadership? Can you please tell a meaningful story about one of them?
My mentors are my clients at every stage, guiding my leadership journey through their insights, challenges, and expectations. Seeing my clients as mentors influences me in learning new things, adapting, and improving them based on real-world needs and experiences. Every interaction with them is a learning opportunity that shapes how I lead and grow Fixdax Technology. One memorable experience was when a client pushed us to develop a solution beyond our usual expertise.
Instead of viewing it as just another project, I embraced it as a chance to learn and innovate. Their feedback challenged me to refine our approach, improve our processes, and think beyond conventional solutions. This experience reinforced the importance of listening, adapting, and evolving as a leader. By treating every client as a mentor, I stay open to new ideas, continuously improve, and ensure Fixdax remains agile, customer-focused, and forward-thinking.
5. Leadership is often more about what you DON'T do. How do you maintain focus in your role?
Leadership is often about knowing what not to do—avoiding micromanagement, resisting unnecessary distractions, and not getting caught up in day-to-day operational noise that hinders strategic thinking. As the Director of Operations at Fixdax Technology, I maintain focus by prioritizing what truly drives growth and impact. I delegate effectively, trusting my team to handle their responsibilities while I concentrate on high-level strategy, innovation, and business development.
I set clear goals, eliminate unnecessary meetings, and ensure that every decision aligns with our long-term vision. Most importantly, I practice discipline in saying no to opportunities or tasks that don’t align with our core mission. By staying focused on what matters most, I ensure that Fixdax continues to evolve, innovate, and succeed in an ever-changing industry.
6. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Everyone plans differently. How do you plan for the week, month and years ahead in your role?
Planning is the foundation of effective leadership, and I approach it with a structured yet flexible mindset.
For the week, I set clear priorities, focusing on high-impact tasks that align with Fixdax Technology’s strategic goals. I review ongoing projects, delegate responsibilities, and ensure my team has the resources they need. Daily check-ins help me stay adaptable while keeping everything on track.
For the month, I take a broader view—analyzing progress, adjusting strategies, and addressing any operational bottlenecks. I assess key performance indicators (KPIs), meet with stakeholders, and ensure that short-term objectives align with our long-term vision.
For the year, I focus on long-term growth, innovation, and industry positioning. This includes setting major business goals, planning product or service expansions, and identifying new market opportunities. I also invest time in team development, ensuring we are continuously evolving to meet future challenges.
By combining short-term execution with long-term vision, I ensure Fixdax remains agile, innovative, and always moving forward.
7. What advice would you give to a young leader who is struggling to delegate effectively?
My advice to a young leader struggling with delegation is simple: trust your team, communicate clearly, and focus on impact. Many leaders hesitate to delegate because they fear losing control or believe they can do things better themselves. However, holding onto everything limits both your growth and your team's potential.
Start by identifying tasks that don’t require your direct involvement and assign them to the right people based on their strengths. Clearly communicate expectations, but avoid micromanaging—give guidance, not step-by-step instructions. Provide support when needed, but also allow room for learning and ownership.
Most importantly, shift your mindset: Delegation isn’t about offloading work—it’s about empowering others to grow while freeing yourself to focus on high-level strategy. The more you delegate effectively, the stronger your team becomes, and the more you can drive meaningful impact as a leader.
