1. As a leader, how do you build trust with employees, customers and other stakeholders?
When it comes to relationship building, I’ve come to learn that setting boundaries between a personal and professional relationship is rather important. As an empath, I build trust quite easily but I also learnt that setting healthy boundaries is also imperative and hence what I say I do and it’s reciprocated the same way.
2. What do 'VISION' and 'MISSION' mean to you? And what does it actually look like to use them in real-world business?
I see vision as the legacy I want to establish. Where I see the company in its peak success in future. And I view mission as the positive impact my company will have on people.
3. How can a leader empower the people they're leading?
By letting go of micromanaging. You hire the best people for the company; you share your mission and vision with them, and you allow them to execute for the success of your company
4. Who are some of the coaches or mentors in your life who have had a positive influence on your leadership? Can you please tell a meaningful story about one of them?
I love Emma Grede. She is a go-getter, a force not to be reckoned with, and her energy is unmatched. I love that she loves Oprah as well, who I am a huge fan also
5. Leadership is often more about what you DON'T do. How do you maintain focus in your role?
Spirituality keeps me grounded
6. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Everyone plans differently. How do you plan for the week, month and years ahead in your role?
I look through the goals I want to attain and plan out my week a week before. Then again, life happens, and not every day can you attain what you have set out to accomplish, so I take it by the day
7. What advice would you give to a young leader who is struggling to delegate effectively?
Have the mindset that if you don’t delegate effectively, you are doing a disservice to your business, and it will hamper its growth. No founder wants to jeopardise that.
