Name: Barbara Maheshwari
Current title: Business Executive

Barbara has an educational background in sociology, communication science and accounting as well as an Executive MBA in general business management from Business school Cotrugli. Barbara was the youngest Executive MBA graduate from BSC, and the youngest columnist ever who worked for Croatian magazine Entrepreneur.
She started her first company when she was 17 years old. Ever since then, she is running her own businesses as well as consulting clients and helping them to grow their companies. Most of her projects are based in the UK and Croatia, even though she has some projects in India and Dubai as well.

1. What have you found most challenging as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise?
Politics and diplomacy.
2. How did you become a CEO or executive of a large enterprise? Can you please briefly tell the story?
I was working as a Consultant and Executive in London. When I moved to India I started working as an Executive in the family company of my husband.
3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?
7 AM Exercise
8 AM Breakfast and coffee
9 AM - 7 PM Work
8 PM - ... Social life/other hobbies
4. What's the most recent significant leadership lesson you've learned?
There is only one difference between successful and unsuccessful people. Unsuccessful people fail and give up, successful people fail and try again.
5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

6. How do you build leadership capacity in a large enterprise?
Setting a good example and inspiring people. Making sure that they are aware of the main purpose and mission of our business at any point.
7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise so far?
I think the main inspiring story about Allen Career Institute is an origin story. How Mr Brajesh Maheshwari started coaching students with his 3 brothers in a small village in India because that was his passion, and 32 years later they created a business with more than 10 000 employees.
