Shandra Stringer is the embodiment of someone who works at the grassroots level to make a difference with individuals and organizations. Shandra‘s desire is to produce her work in the Spirit of Excellence that will provoke individuals and organizations to be the paramount of themselves. Shandra is known as the “The Train Conductor Trainer” and most recently have been referred to as the “Business Midwife.

1. What have you found most challenging as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise?

The most difficult thing I have found for an area of opportunity is when to bring on new team members when it is time to expand services or alter service delivery.

2. How did you become a CEO or executive of a large enterprise? Can you please briefly tell the story?

Grassroots Consulting, Inc. has been a pillar of the community since 2003. Grassroots has taken extreme measures to be recognized as a comprehensive consulting firm whose mission is to ensure small business, non-profit organizations and underserved communities have access to professional, prompt and precise services. In our initial Startup phase, we dedicated hundreds of hours answering questions referring to effective business start-up plans and providing local business owners with information regarding the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

In October 2006, Grassroots realized it was imperative that we formally register our company as an entity that provides services locally and abroad. I am the founder which allows me to be the CEO as well.

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

Patience with learning styles of new team members.

Leading by example. Mind actions more than my words.

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a CEO or executive of a large enterprise so far?

During the pandemic while profit is always a priority being present for team members safety while focusing on how to provide services
