1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?

Balancing the up or out culture of the technology industry with the needs of myself and my family.

2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?

I am passionate about bringing influential leaders together with innovation to address social Justice issue at scale. As a women in STEM I always felt it was important to bring a different perspective to the room where decisions were being made and to pull up more chairs for others. You can read about my full story at www.lisathee.com/go

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

Get the kids up and out of the house in the morning. I focus on my creative work in the morning before I get into my inbox and focus on the demands of the world. I advise CEO’s, Clients, and stakeholders on AI strategy and CRO topics. I try to get out everyday for a walk to clear my head and get some vitamin D. I wrap up my day with a family meal. Nights and weekends are busy with kids soccer, theater, swim, and reading.

4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?

If they will do it with you, they will do it to you.

5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

“What Happened To You” by Bruce Duncan Perry and Oprah Winfrey. When I have a big reaction to something happening at work, it reminds me to slow down and reflect on why this is triggering me and spend time processing it so I don’t let it cloud my judgement on the next right step.

6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?

Find a problem you would not mind working on for years and then learn as much as you can about it to make your mark towards solving it. For me that was human trafficking prevention and reintegration

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far?

I enjoyed my time setting culture, defining and developing products, and leading a team of talented data scientists, marketing, and engineers as the CEO of Minor Guard the most. Finding talented people with a shared passion for entrepreneurship and keeping kids safer online and in real life was a place where I felt in flo everyday with my tribe. It has been wonderful seeing them go on to found their own companies, lead engineering teams at major tech companies, and consulting. I wrote an upcoming book on how to infuse more mission into your work as a leader. Go! Reboot Your career in 90 Days is available for pre-order at www.lisathee.com/go and amazon.
