1. What have you found most challenging as a leader?

Gaps between espoused and lived values

2. How did you become a leader? Can you please briefly tell the story?

I took opportunties that exposed me to some risk and discomfort but with an ethical purpose in mind

3. How do you structure your work days from waking up to going to sleep?

My diary structures it for me, Always some exercise and always time for loved ones

4. What's a recent leadership lesson you've learned for the first time or been reminded of?

You're in charge of your own feelings.

5. What's one book that has had a profound impact on your leadership so far? Can you please briefly tell the story of how that book impacted your leadership?

The Five Dysfunctions of a Team-
Granted the permission to rexamine the gap between espiused and lived values

6. If you could only give one piece of advice to a young leader, what would you say to them?

(1) Accpet the fact that you're not always (and often won't be), the smartest person in the room. It doesn't matter, it's how you access the expertise of others for the common good that matters.
(2) Shit happens
(3) 1+2 and "tomorrow's another day!"

7. What is one meaningful story that comes to mind from your time as a leader, so far?

I met my birth mother (I am adopted) by sticking to my principles in a leadership role. Couldn't have seen it coming!
